Traditional Recipes from Italian Cuisine –
Francesco style Caprese
Hi, I’m Francesco. Today, I’m going to share with you a Caprese dish: Caprese. A simple yet flavorful dish, a symbol of the Italian culinary culture of my childhood.
“Caprese salad has its origins in the sunny and warm Italian island of Capri. Historically, this salad was made in the 20th century. It is believed that it originated at the beginning of the century. According to the stories, this simple but delicious salad was created with the intention of showcasing the local products of the island. Cappese combines Italy’s most basic ingredients – tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil.
The bright red of the tomato, the green basil of Italy and the pure white of the mozzarella cheese symbolize the country’s flag. These colors are seen as a reflection of Italian cuisine and culture. Caprese salad is a celebration of simplicity and naturalness; The freshness and quality of each ingredient determines the quality of this dish.
When making caprese salad, I always use the freshest ingredients. Ripe tomatoes, a good quality mozzarella and fresh basil leaves, with a little olive oil and salt on the side. The quality of the ingredients is the secret of this dish. While preparing the salad, I make sure that the natural beauty of the ingredients is at the forefront.
It is a source of great pride for me to see this classic flavor of Italy as a dish that is loved and respected by many people around the world. The Caprese salad perfectly represents the simplicity and richness of Italian cuisine.”
